Brisbane’s newest Mexican Restaurant inspired by Day of the Dead has finally landed. With a reasonably priced menu (Tacos are only $5.50 each) that offers healthy and delicious food, Sin Vida is definitely a new comer to watch out for.
We started off the evening with some of their delicious cocktails (some of the best I have ever had). We tried out the Marie Sangrienta (tomato, tequila, juice, Worcestershire sauce, tobasco & celery) and the Coconut Mango Mojito (1800 Coconut Tequila, lime, mango & mint); all cocktails are reasonably priced under $20.
For starters we opted for the Guacamole & SIN VIDA Corn Chips. I have one word for this dish, heaven! The corn chips were the best I have ever had. They are made in Mexico and brought to Australia; the seasoning added is amazing. It has a sweet and spicy taste. I would go back for this dish at least twice a week. The Guacamole was equally as delicious, with hints of chilli.
For mains we ordered the Sin Vida Steak (Black onyx skirt steak, fried potato, frijoles, roasted green tomato & salsa verde) and the Pancita de Cerdo (Pork belly cooked in mole negro, pineapple & frijoles). Both mains were under $30 and were very generous in size. The steak was beautifully cooked, well flavoured and melted in my mouth. The Pork Belly worked really well with the combined flavours on the plate. Both dishes were very healthy but wholesome.
