Location: Cloudland Brisbane, Fortitude Valley
Price: $8 – $35
Overall Experience: 10/10
It is not often that we trial out a menu and have absolutely nothing to fault. Madam Hedges has launched their new Pan-Asian inspired menu at Cloudland. Every aspect of their service was perfect. The staff were friendly, the pricing was right, our meals came out on time and most importantly, they were delicious.
Dishes on the menu are reasonably priced, designed to share amongst friends. Here are our favourite picks:
BBQ DUCK PANCAKES
I am a huge fan of duck pancakes and these did not disappoint. The duck was juicy and the pancake was light and fresh, served up with hoisin sauce, cucumber and spring onion. With 4 bite sized pancakes, this makes for the perfect shared entree. Best of all, it will only set you back $12.
STEAMED SICHUAN BEEF DUMPLINGS
Once again, another delicious, bite sized entree. The dumplings were silky in texture and worked really well with the fresh coriander and mint sauce. I was also really impressed with the plating of this dish. Cost: $8.
CHINESE KALE WITH OYSTER SAUCE & SHITAKE MUSHROOMS
For all the vegetarians out there, this is ‘the’ dish to order. The most amazing Kale I have ever had in my life (and I have had a fair bit of kale when I was paleo). I could not stop eating this one. The crispy garlic that was added to the dish, brought things to life. I would recommend ordering this dish as a side salad alongside other options on the menu. Cost: $10.
SEARED SPICE BEEF SALAD
Perfectly seared beef served with cucumber, Thai celery, tomato, ground rice, coriander, mint and chilli. This gluten free, dairy free dish surpassed my expectations. The beef was heavenly! Cost: $17.
