Willow & Spoon, your friendly, local cafe, that serves up affordable, delicious meals. Their humble approach, makes for the perfect Sunday breakfast, sitting in the back yard with a group of friends and enjoying the day.
Here are the dishes we tried out:
The Vulcan –
Hearty braised beef cheek pie served with smashed peas, poached eggs and jus. The beef was whole in flavour and melted in my mouth. It worked perfectly with the poached egg and jus. This was a very filling dish, and I would recommend ordering it for brunch. Cost: $17.
Sautéed garlic field mushrooms with haloumi, cous cous, rocket, harissa yoghurt and a fried egg. The garlic mushrooms were to die for and worked really with the haloumi. I think the harissa could have been omitted on this dish and instead a sauce with a tangy element could have been used. Perhaps some lemon on the side would have complimented the dish. All in all, it was still lovely to eat. Very, very filling. Cost: $17.
