Crust Pizza has launched their new La Dolce range, with 3 signature flavours and a secret pizza for those who love to life on the edge.
The range includes Quattro Salumi, Chilli Gamberi and a Porcini Pizza.
I was lucky enough to try out the Chilli Gamberi, with Marinated Tiger Prawns, blanched Silverbeet Spinach & roasted Roma Tomatoes on a Tomato Base, garnished with Chilli Flakes & fresh chopped Red Chilli, dressed with Chilli infused EVOO & a Lemon Wedge. Crust has converted me…The pizza was light, delicious and filled with flavour. They were not messing around when they called this a ‘chilli’ pizza. However, I did think it was quite interested to see that they used silverbeet in their range. The large pizza would set you back $21 which isn’t so bad considering their pizza’s are true to size.
I also had the opportunity to meet the lovely owner of the new Algester store, who welcomed us with warm hospitality. We took this as an opportunity to sample of their desserts in addition to the new range.
Priced at a reasonable $11.50, the Elvis is a Dessert Pizza layered with Banana Chocolate Chip Cake, Caramel Peanut-butter, topped with Baked Crumble, Fresh Banana & dusted with Icing Sugar. It was heavenly. I would recommend ordering a side of ice-cream to go with. Even though the serving suggestion is for 2 people, I would say, this could feed 4 as it is quite sweet and high in fats.
Black Forest Crumble
Cos one dessert is never enough for us, we had to order a second (not that it was needed). The Black Forest Crumble is also a Dessert Pizza layered with Custard, Mud Cake, Black Cherries, topped with Baked Crumble, drizzled with Berry Coulis & dusted with Icing Sugar.
*Gluten Free options can be requested on their Dolce range
