Location: Glenelg Street and Grey Street, Southbank
Bacchus promise an unforgettable dining experience and that is exactly what they deliver. We were treated to various sample dishes of the menu including: Salmon tartare, textures of beetroot , kingfish, tip tip wagyu and a platter of various desserts. Bacchus is located at the Rydges hotel in Southbank and offers a Modern Australian fine dining restaurant and an outdoor bar, Soleil Pool Bar.
The classy and sophisticated restaurant is the perfect setting for meetings and special occasions , the décor is opulent with a touch of old Hollywood Glamour. The restaurant offers a carefully curated menu and there is also a somalier in house to help you make those important wine decisions. There is plently to choose from on them menu and if you are anything like us you may change your mind a few times before you make your final decision – everything just sounds so good!
The menu is comprised of several sections: raw & share, entrée, mains, from the grill and of course the most important, dessert. The stand out dish for me was the tri tip full blood wagyu. This is Australias finest full blood wagyu, bred and raised by the master wagyu producer David Blackmore and his family at Alexandra, VIC. This was the most tasty and tender cut of meat I’ve ever had and it paired nicely with the red wine jus and mixed salad as a side. If you’re looking for somewhere to impress your friends, Bacchus is definitely it!
