Ocean View Estates Winery

Over the weekend we were invited to visit the gorgeous Ocean View Estates Winery. The Winery is family owned and operated by Kate and Thomas and is located at Mt Mee, only 45kms from Brisbane City. We made the scenic drive up the mountain and arrived at the winery where we met with stunning views of the property and a relaxing, serene atmosphere. The surroundings were perfect, we couldn’t wait to try the food!

Food:

Vine and Bine beer and wine food pairings

The new Vine and Bine experience is a must try at Ocean View Estates Winery. Choose from wine or craft beer paired with five delicious dishes. All wine and beer is produced on site at the winery and the dishes are prepared by chef Tony Tierny and his talented team. We tried both the wine and beer pairings and couldn’t decide which we liked best! For us the stand out dishes were the mushroom dumpling and slow cooked brisket steamed bun – delicious!

Sunday breakfast

The restaurant offers a selection of delicious breakfast dishes on a Sunday from 8:30am – 10:30am. We were spoiled for choice but opted for the following dishes:

62 degree eggs, crispy bacon, roasted mushrooms, confit tomato, organic sourdough. This dish was amazing! I am a huge fan of crispy american style bacon and this hit the spot, a perfect breakfast – especially if you’ve had a few too many wines the night before…

Grilled haloumi, avocado, confit tomato and organic sourdough. Haloumi is a must have on any breakfast menu and this dish did not disappoint. No breakfast is complete without toast and this organic sourdough is one of the best we’ve ever tasted. This is definitely a breakfast worth making the drive for on a Sunday morning.

Sweets

Fresh Scones, jam and cream are a must have. These were seriously the best scones i’ve ever had, fluffy on the inside with a crunchy crust on the outside, served warm…mmmm.

Handmade truffles and sweet selection – how pretty are these!
