The thought of cutting out fatty foods from my diet and sticking to a nutrient rich, ‘healthy’ diet seems like torture. Why would I ever want to give up eating Waffles with 3 scoops of ice cream and replace it with a health bar? That sounds bizarre, why would anyone want to do that? Waffles taste amazing and health snacks on the other hand, are just ummm…boring.
Well that’s kind of how I have been looking at it until recently! That was until Slim Secrets sent me a range of their delicious (and yes I mean delicious) treats. And no, I am not sugar coating it; can’t really sugar coat healthy snacks now can I? That would just be rude.
I got to try their new Protein Puds with Chia, perfect for on the go, they are sweet and filling but did not leave me feeling bloated. In all honesty, they kind of tasted like a dessert, except they were healthy enough to eat for breakfast (#winning). They come in 3 flavours, Choc Coconut, Salted Caramel and Strawberry, and contain 10 grams of protein,
4 grams of fibre and are under 100 calories (not that I really count my calories, if I did, I would probably be one really sad human). I am going purely on taste, and that little mental voice in my head, that tells me I will have abs after eating healthy food, which leaves me with the conclusion that they are amazing. Oh and they will only set you back a mere $4.50.
Saving the best for last, The Bare Bar, a gluten free, protein bar! I have had a fair few protein bars in my life time, and this one would have to be my favourite. Given that it is gluten free, the texture, is very chewy, which adds a different dimension to it. It makes it easier to eat, unlike most other protein bars, which are quite firm. It is also one of the cleanest bars on the market, and hey it tastes good. I need it in my life everyday. Their amazing range genuinely makes you want to eat healthy snacks as they don’t compromise on taste.
Slim Secrets products are available to buy at selected Woolworths, Coles and IGA Supermarkets, as well as Fernwood Fitness gyms.
